Skype 4.1 Beta for Windows
Skype has introduced beta version for its 4.1.x series with various new features. Skype is software used by millions of people worldwide for voice and video calls. Also, for sending messages and sharing files with other Skype users. Though beta was introduced for Mac earlier this January now it has announced for Windows also.

The new features included are:

Sharing Screen: The most significant feature added to this version is sharing screen technology. User can share his screen with other Skype users. This can be done by clicking “Share” button in the instant Messaging area or by clicking on “Call” menu option. Both the users cannot share their screen simultaneously.

Contact Importing: Skype user can import his contact from other address book like Gmail, AOL.

Birthday Alert: It alerts the user about the birthday at midnight local time for one of your contacts if they have stored the birthday date in their profile. This feature was available in Skype 3.x but was withdrawn in Skype 4 .

Send Contact: You can send contacts from your contact list to the other Skype User by dragging the contact in the Instant Messaging Area.
Known Issues – Users to find difficulty while using this Version

While copying and pasting the same URL address in the same instant message then the URL seems to be a blank line.

While taking a video snapshot it seems to be black.

It may become irresponsive if the hard disk is busy or your Skype History is very large.
Some more issues have been reported to Skype and they are trying hard to solve these issues and come up with another upgrade for its Beta version.
