Apple releases Safari 4.0.2 update
Apple rolls out important updates to its Safari web browser releasing Safari 4.0.2. The update version 4.0.2 addresses on two important security vulnerability and also provides more stability in Nitro JavaScript Engine.
First security fix made for an issue regarding Webkit’s handling parent and top objects which could result in cross scripting attack while visiting any maliciously crafted site. The update improves handling with parents and top objects.
Another update is made regarding the memory corruption for Webkit’s handling numeric references which while visiting maliciously crafted sites leads to execution of unwanted code or application termination. The update improves handling with numeric references.
Furthermore it provides more stability to Nitro JavaScript Engine, thereby improving the performance for both Windows and Mac OSX platforms.
Apple recommends all its users to update Safari browser which can be downloaded and installed via software update preferences.
